This Gledhill Stainless Lite Plus Heat Pump Cylinder belongs to the range of unvented hot water cylinders that have been specifically designed to fulfil your heating demands. It is a new addition to the Gledhill water cylinder family and is known for its high-efficiency levels and good performance. These unvented indirect cylinders are made specifically for heat pump applications for providing mains pressure domestic hot water.
Utilising the state-of-the-art Gledhill Stainless Lite Plus technology, this unvented hot water cylinder maximises the lower temperatures available from the heat pump. It consists of a multi-pass corrugated stainless steel tube in parallel to reduce pressure loss whilst maximising the heat exchange. Many medium to large heat pumps need heat exchangers in the store that will cope with the higher flow rates associated with temperatures that are typically 50-60 degree celsius.
To prevent the growth of legionella, the StainlessLite Plus HP model is supplied with an immersion heater tapping and a thermostat pocket.
It is recommended that a thermostat is fitted which brings the immersion heater on at a temperature just below the heat pump maximum and switches off at 60 or 65 degrees celsius. In this way the use of direct electricity is minimised and most of the water heating is achieved through the heat pump. Every model is designed to deliver high performance and transfer the adequate amount of heat to stored water.
